ESD mats are specifically designed to drain static charges from items placed on their surface, while also protecting the surface of ESD sensitive devices from wear and tear. Made from durable materials, these ESD safe mats are long-lasting and maintain their antistatic properties.
For effective grounding, the item placed on the mat must be either conductive or static-dissipative, as insulative items will not allow the charge to drain to the ground, such as most plastics.
